A San Francisco kayaking instructor invited me to create a sticker for her to give to clients at the end of a paddling session. She wanted a “cool”, psychedelic feel that would work with her approachable, low-key brand.
A group of doctors and volunteers asked me to volunteer my services for a vaccination effort in San Francisco. One of the doctors had graciously donated 40,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to the uninsured in Tier 1B: teachers, food workers, and emergency services.
The donors wanted a poster to brighten up the room and soothe the nerves of the patients, and pins to help separate volunteers from visitors. The resulting imagery pulls on Rosie the Riveter’s legacy; Vicky the Vaccinator, as we call her, galvanizes us to a common sense of purpose, to end this pandemic.
I created this building rendering for Yes, a concept store set to open in San Francisco’s Castro District.
I was tasked with creating a digital illustration of a musician for my Digital Illustration class, so I chose one of my favorites: the poetic, macabre Phoebe Bridgers, who wears a skeleten suit at her shows.
The concept is a play on Phoebe’s poignancy poeticism—she’s akin to Shakespeare’s Hamlet here—but with tongue in cheek—reflecting back her sense of humor.
What will the next generation see when they study the oceans in school? This animation attempts to answer that question.
